Short answer
Montgomery County grew from 293,768 residents in 2000 to 620,443 in 2020, so most of its garage doors were installed in the last twenty-five years. That puts a large share of them at the age for first spring and opener replacements, which are the calls we take most often there.
What garage doors deal with in Montgomery County
Montgomery County's growth came in waves. The Woodlands opened in 1974 with the Village of Grogan's Mill and grew to 114,436 residents by 2020, and much of the rest of the county filled in after 2000. That gives the county two kinds of garage door: older doors in the first villages that have already been replaced once, and newer builder-grade doors reaching the end of their original springs.
The Woodlands was planned around a preserved forest, and the trees bring their own garage door wear. Needles and debris collect in the tracks and under the bottom seal, and shaded doors stay damp longer, which is hard on springs, cables and wood or wood-look finishes.
The name Spring also reaches into southern Montgomery County, so many addresses there sit close to our Harris County calls. Whichever side of the county line you are on, the same phone line covers you.
